COMPARISON OF FEASIBILITY OF RISK MONITORING IN BUILDINGS IN TWO WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK: MICA MOTE AND MEMS

    Get PDF
In this paper feasibility of risk monitoring of buildings in two wireless sensor network is presented, firstly by using MICA Mote and then by MEMS.Also,it will be verified that the MEMS sensors are superior as it provides high quality sensor data and no data loss as compared to MICA Mote.In order to assess earthquakes the structures is monitored firstly by using a smart sensor based on the Berkeley Moteplatform. The Mote has on-board microprocessor and ready-made wireless communication capabilities. In this paper, the performance of the Mote is investigated through shakingtable tests employing a two-story steel structur. The feasibility of risk monitoring for buildings is also discussed. In building monitoring using MEMS,a low power wireless network employing capacitive MEMS which is custom-developed,3D accelerated sensor and a low power readout ASIC is used at the sensor nodes. After the the earthquake, the plastic hinge activation of structure is being measured using MEM sensor either periodically or on demand by the base station.During an earthquake the accelerometers are used to measure the seismic response of the structure. The seismic response is recorded by the accelerometer based on the local acceleration data and remote triggering from the base station. The base station is based on acceleration data from multiple sensors across the structure. In a 800 MHZ band,a low power architecture had been implemented over an 802.15.4 MAC

Exploring the Behavior of Highly Effective CIOs Using Video Analysis

    Get PDF
Although recently several studies have addressed the required skills of effective CIOs, little is known of the actual behavior successful CIOs. In this study, we explore the behavior of highly effective CIOs by video-recording CIOs at work. The two CIOs videotaped were nominated as CIO of the year. We analyze the data in an innovative and systematic way by developing and using a behavioral leadership coding scheme. The analysis indicates that highly effective CIOs are good listeners. They also often verify previously made agreements; structure the conversation; and provide subordinates with factual information. We also compare the behavior of the highly effective CIOs to a sample of 25 highly effective middle managers. Whereas the CIOs spend little time defending themselves against their subordinates and are mostly involved in steering, middle-managers spend much more time defending themselves and show more support for their subordinates. We conclude that our new video observation-and-coding method is viable to analyze and better understand the behavior of CIOs

Essential Hypertension - An Ayurvedic Review

    Get PDF
Essential hypertension is high blood pressure for which there is no clearly defined aetiology. According to oxford textbook of medicine 5th edition, in 2000 it was estimated that 25% of the world adult population were hypertensive and predicted that this would rise to 29% by 2025. By the age of 60, more than one half of adults in most regions of the world will be hypertensive. There is continuous relationship between blood pressure and cardiovascular risk from blood pressure values as low as 115/75mm of Hg. In Ayurveda there is no specific terminology mentioned or explanation has been found regarding essential hypertension. But most of the Ayurveda experts believe that the main pathogenesis occurs in blood vessels and involves all the Doshas, including Manavahasrotas involvement. Presently the disease is treated empirically in Ayurveda clinics, so there is the need to understand it rationally in terms of Ayurveda so it can be treated accordingly with better results and prognosis. The Nidana can be explained under three factors including bijadoshas, environmental, and Manasika Doshas. It can be described as the disease with Avyakta Purvarupa and Rupa as Shirashoola, Nidranasha, Bhrama, Klama etc. The disease can be concluded as Vatapradhana Tridoshaja Vyadhi with involvement of Mahamarmas

A clinical study on management of Gridhrasi

Gridhrasi is a painful condition in which the person can’t sit and walk properly that hampers his normal activity. Almost all signs and symptoms of Gridhrasi resemble with the condition of sciatica described by the modern texts. Its detail symptomatology has been described in Ayurvedic classics since 5000 years, while this condition was known to modern medical science just two centuries ago. According to Ayurveda principles treatment for Vatavyadhi should be Shodhana followed by Shamana therapy. According to present era it should be less time consuming and more effective. Keeping this in mind, A clinical study in the management of Gridhrasi with Shodhana and Shamana therapy was undertaken in VYDSAMC & Hospital, Khurja,Bulandshahr, with the aim to give promising results to the patient of Gridhrasi. Shodhana therapy as Mridu Virechana followed by Shamana with Yograja Guggulu and Maharasnadi Kwatha was given to 29 patients with classical symptoms of Gridhrasi, it showed significant results. The following study can be taken for further research in this field

Basically the system is designed for news of violation of child rights. In this system child rights are mentioned by clicking on which we can get their information related to those rights. Basically the system is designed so that the user is aware of all child rights violation news which is available on one portal , and the user need not move to different sites for the same. This is important so that everybody is aware of the child rights and also the violation of child rights in the form of news. The users should be aware of the child rights and their violation , through this system they can know about the child rights in detail and the news of violation of child rights .The technologies in this project are HTML, CSS, BOOTSTRAP .Online links of various child rights violation are provided with the system

Process of Ageing - An Ayurvedic Perspective

Census shows that one out of every two elderly suffers from at least alone chronic disease that requires lifelong medication. Nearly 50% report arthritis, 40% hypertention, 30% hearing impairement, 40% defective vision, 10% diabetes, 89 out of every 1000 are mentally ill. Ayurveda has considered Jara as one of the branch among eight branches of Ayurveda but detailed description as a disease has not been mentioned anywhere. Process of ageing can be described by Sahaja Theory and Vatic Theory and how various pathological factors such as impaired Dhatu Vyuha Karatha, Rasa Shoshana, Dhatu Asamata, Agni Asamata, Mano Vyaharsha and Ayu Upaghata leads to Ojakshaya and ultimately Jara
